Commentary on Zimbabwean and African politics

I am a Zimbabwean journalist living in exile in England. In Harare I worked for the Financial Gazette, the country’s oldest business independent weekly. In 2002 I moved to the Sunday Mirror which i edited between November 2003 up until I left the country in September 2004. I have written articles for the World Health Organisation Bulletin, the South African Sunday Times and Farmers Weekly magazine, as well as London-based scidev.net. I am also a keen supporter of the new online Zimbabwean media established by fellow exiled journalists and regularly contribute articles to Newzimbabwe.com.

O lift high the banner, the flag of Zimbabwe. The symbol of freedom proclaiming victory; We praise our heros’ sacrifice, And vow to keep our land from foes; And may the Almighty protect and bless our land. O lovely Zimbabwe, so wondrously adorned; With mountains, and rivers cascading, flowing free; And may the Almighty protect and bless our land. O God, we beseech Thee to bless our native land; The land of our fathers bestowed upon us all.
